Transforming LeadershipPurposeLegacy Across Africa

Through storytelling, mentorship, and leadership training, I empower individuals and organizations to grow beyond success to significance.

The Speaker Who Inspires Action

My mission is simple : to inspire and equip leaders across Africa to rise with purpose. I believe leadership is not about titles or positions; it’s about influence, impact, and integrity. Through every engagement, I aim to help organizations reshape culture, unlock potential, and drive sustainable growth.
I draw on decades of real-world experience , leading teams, transforming institutions, and navigating change to create learning experiences that move people from inspiration to action. My approach blends evidence-based insights with a deep understanding of our African context, ensuring that every session is not only relevant but truly transformative. At heart, I’m passionate about building leaders who build others because when leadership is grounded in purpose, excellence naturally follows.

Mary Wangari Wamae, Founder & CEO, TVG Consulting and Leadership Group Advocate of the High Court of Kenya | Governance & Leadership Expert.
From the dusty roads of a small village in Nyeri to the boardrooms of Africa’s leading institutions, my journey has been one of purpose, courage, and grace. With over three decades of experience in law, strategy, and executive leadership, I have lived through the triumphs and trials that shape true leadership.

As the former Group Executive Director at Equity Group Holdings, I helped steer one of Africa’s most remarkable stories of transformation — expanding financial inclusion, deepening governance, and building teams grounded in purpose. Today, through TVG Consulting and Leadership Group, I walk alongside boards, CEOs, and organizations as they craft enduring institutions and legacies of impact.

I am privileged to serve as Adjunct Faculty at Strathmore Business School and on boards such as the Strathmore University Foundation and the Africa Financial Summit (AFiS). My work and advocacy for ethical leadership and gender inclusion have been recognized through the Angaza Award and the Women on Board Award.

As an author and storyteller, I write to inspire. My books, The Village Girl: My Dream, Life and Legacy and From the Village to the Boardroom: A Journey of Purpose, Power and Legacy, capture the lessons, faith, and resilience that have shaped my path. Through The Executive Table Podcast, I continue to share stories that ignite purpose and leadership across generations.

Speaking Engagements

I don’t just talk about leadership because I’ve lived it.

My journey began in a small village in Nyeri with nothing more than a suitcase, determination, and a dream. Decades later, I found myself seated at the highest decision-making tables, serving as Group Executive Director at Equity Group Holdings, helping to shape strategy across multiple African markets. Every story I tell comes from that lived experience and covers the triumphs, the fears, the detours, and the lessons that shaped me into the leader I am today.

When I speak, I don’t offer theories or clichés. I share real stories of resilience, integrity, purpose, and the courage to keep walking when the path is uncertain. My sessions are honest and deeply personal, combining corporate insight with human experience. They are about more than motivation; they are about transformation, helping leaders, entrepreneurs, and young professionals find clarity, build character, and lead with authenticity.

In the past two years alone, I’ve had the privilege of speaking in Kampala, Eldoret, Nairobi, and Mombasa to audiences hungry not just for success, but for significance. From the Women on Boards Network (WOBN) Awards , Women In Insurance, Customer Service Institute, Human Resources Institute and Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Youth Forum.and the Women breakfast among others, to executive dialogues and media panels, I’ve witnessed how powerful stories can shift perspectives and ignite action.

My mission is simple: to spark conversations that matter about leadership, purpose, and legacy. Whether on stage, in a boardroom, or in a mentoring circle, I bring candor, warmth, and wisdom drawn from real life. Because while others talk about leadership, I’ve lived it building strategy, breaking barriers, and learning that true power lies in purpose.
